Catherine Harvey asked:

BMW has had a successful history of motorsport since it first appeared in 1938 in the resistance along the Mille Miglia. The year was 1938 and BMW has entered their car sport 2.0-liter BMW 328 in the famous street race Miles of miles. The car has done very well for a number of drivers who were taking part in the car and he directed the victory of class flying out from their competitors. The following year the car has shown promise but could not win the event and that is truly what it ’s creators wanted to do. Their patience paid off in 1940 when a car of BMW 328, the car that won their class in 1938, won the event after lle 998 miles tiring. The car was aided and has been updated with an aerodynamic body that has given more aerodynamic efficiency. BMW 328 also won the RAC rally in 1939 and have since finished fifth overall after 24 hours and first in class from 2 liters. This meant it was regarded as the best international sports car that was in the category of 2 liters. Currently, BMW was racing motorcycles, in 1939 one of their motorcycles has won the island’s TT and other events as the world championship of the sidecar. This continued until 1970 ’s.BMW also had a reasonably big story in Formula 1. During the 1980 ’s who wanted to develop an engine for F1 purposes. The Brabham F1 team has seen this opportunity and the engine in the first place was underway in 1982. The first victory of the race engine was great prix Canadian 1982 with the help of Nelson Piquet. The after season in 1983, the association continued and the BMW powered Brabham took 4 victories on its way to help the victory of Nelson Piquet the title. BMW has changed the Benetton team in 1986 but has only been able to win a race world championship. With the success in Formula 1 to a minimum, BMW has decided to drop their engines in the world championship by the end of the season 1986. The engine used continued during 1987 but which have been changed Megatron title because he bought the rights to the engine and were put into the team of arrows for 1987. The BMW engine was famous for being the first Formula 1 engine to develop more than 1000hp in the provision of the race and nearly 1400hp in the provision of qualifying when the pressure was completely hooked. They have not yet provided the Formula 1 until 1997 when they formed an association agreement with the Williams F1 team have their engines for the 2000 season onwards. The powerful engine of E41 V10 has been done to the team of Williams and debuted by the team where I managed to get third place in the constructors’ championship and 3 floor podium. There were still some disagreements over the association with Williams and in 2005 a major row has erupted about the reliability of the engines and the team was not competitive at season.BMW then bought the rights to the Sauber team that has allowed them to install their own team and to design a car from the ground up. The car did enough in the first fifth of the earnings season themselves in the constructor ‘championship s. Jacque Villeneuve who was with the team when he was Sauber has had disagreements with BMW and has since gone to the conclusion of the season where the Polish driver Robert Kubica of Burba replaced it and immediately showed promise.

pntglobal asked:

BMW has a loyal fan base that has helped to lead the market among European suppliers of the motorcycle. But challengers to the throne as KTM are aggressively trying to gain any percentage of that market. In the world of sports say that competition highlights the best (and most defective) and in people? s? that of the same spirit that the boys in Bavaria have used to bring any of that house at the back of the market. Examining its current programs, the brass of BMW has created what one chooses the 650cc, 1200cc boxer twin and in-line fours did not have, well, nothing in fratempo. He needed a bike to bridge that gap and attract more buyers beginners to the experience of BMW. The new F800ST (and its brother sport, the F800S) is the answer. Call the Beemers. The affordable F800ST that BMW has a range of options is available, including the brakes dell'ABS and saddlebags match. There 'system of smart jack S.A. to record their format and they 're quite practical, if not the basic elements capable of older machines. Two key ingredients for a successful visit of sport are the fuel economy and functionality of saddlebags. Despite the 800cc, the Beemer is surprisingly efficient with fuel. We did the media just a beat more than 46 mpg in various states of driving, ranging from the rapid outbreak of the canyon at the start of the weekend. That efficiency could come in handy, too, as the tank holds only 4.1 gallons. Notassimo was something that our caliber of fuel? s? the STA would always shown a tank full, even after traveling more than 100 miles, which should put a bike around the middle of the tank. It? t of? wasnâ up to the mark of 150 miles or so that the size and monsters suddenly fall quarter of a stay of the tank. Weird. What really rule this bike is different, however, to turn. Although nothing was dragging knees on the demonstration, I led EVER NOT A BIKE THAT WAS HOW SENSIBLE TO RESPOND AND EASY TURN. The pressure on the bars forward this side of the bike to side very quickly and very well placed following a time there. The suspension easily absorbs the shock of midcorner and exhibits no problems on the brakes. (Diving etc …) It is much more good dossier of other suspensions that I led BMW (telelever). The brakes are not powerful sportbike but are more adequate and give the answers excellent. ABS …. Installations …. It is odd on a motorcycle. Choose if you need / want. Even if I didn 't the space of a pax, my wife came and sat on it and said that comfort was similar to st Sprint and substantially improves the SV.From the SaddleBMWs get better the more hard and the longer the drive and did F800ST exception. A pleasure cruise through the country may be nice to just about any motorcycle, but when I have driven the F800 between Montreal and Toronto that was a long, hard and fast days. The whims characteristic of Bimmer are absent, as the oblique tear when blipping the throttle valve and cylinder heads strascicate dall'accantonare aggressive. And the people? t of? Canadian values of a box of gears that clunk? t of? doesn when the reference engage.www.bmwmotorental.comwww.imtbike.com teeth: Answer.com

Chet Waters asked:

Stop Chronic Boredom With This BMW Museum

Do you know why July 20, 2005 was a historic day for BMW?

After much anticipation and excitement, Pickerington, Ohio opened a new exhibit at its “Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Museum”. And the name of the new exhibit could not possibly have been chosen better. The name of its new exhibit said it all, “BMW: The Mastery Of Speed.” You can almost feel the wind rushing past your head, can’t you?

On loan from the Peter Nettesheim collection, this display included many seldom seen machines that are historically important to the development of BMW motorcycles. In addition, the exhibit includes many pictures and artifacts from Mobile Tradition. Just in case you aren’t aware, and very few of us are, Mobile Tradition is the division of BMW that is dedicated to preserving the company’s heritage.

As you know, the heritage of any company is important to its success.

What made this opening especially memorable was the fact that about 9000 members of the “BMW Motorcycle Owners of America” were having their 33rd Annual International Rally in Lima, Ohio from July 21 to July 24, 2005. Tell me that wasn’t a great chance for all the BMW motorcycle enthusiasts to “party” and have a great time. It definitely made the opening of the exhibit a successful event.

The fact is, that BMW understood long before other companies, that what really sells motorcycles is “performance”. That’s why they have always been leading the pack and on the cutting edge of design and technology. One of the things that made the opening of this exhibit thrilling, was how it gave visitors the chance to see how the BMW motorcycle evolved from day one up until the present time.

You might say that the exhibit itself is “an exhilarating ride”.

Because I have a passion for discovering little-known stories and facts about BMW motorcycles and vehicles, sharing this story with you is a big deal for me. It goes to show you that the BMW tradition and excitement isn’t limited to its sedans, coupes, convertibles or roadsters.

Our “two footed” friends, my own affectionate term for BMW motorcycles, are just as important to me as other products of the company. What do you think?

I don’t want to give you the complete list of what you will find at the “Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Museum” because I don’t want to spoil it for you. It would be like me telling you the ending of a movie that you haven’t seen yet. That would be nothing but poor taste on my part. So I won’t do that to you.

I’ll give you just a few tasty treats of what you will find at the museum.

How would you like to feast your eyes on the 1927 BMW R47. Only 1,720 were sold between 1927 and 1928. Also to satisfy your BMW historical “ sweet tooth”, you’ll see their motorcycles from almost every decade in BMW history. Including the R5, which as most avid enthusiasts know, was the most consistent road-going twin cam race winner for BMW.

You no longer have an excuse to be bored.

Get off the couch and “Stop Chronic Boredom With This BMW Museum”.

You’ll love it.

Chet Waters is the BMW Specialist.

Used motorcycle parts prices and advice

When you consider buying used motorcycle parts and accessories you have several options. Lets consider each and see the pros and cons…

Buying from a brand name dealership

It’s a safe and secure way to go. It’s also a great place to inquire about used motorcycle prices. Some brands have a reselling program which guarantees the bikes quality. Honda and Harley and even BMW have such a program.

Buying from a general dealership

The advantage is a general dealership has many different brands and sell different quality bikes. But in case you don’t know the dealer well then keep your hands I your pockets. I would prefer to buy directly from the owner than a general dealership

Buying from an auction

Consider this option only if you are experienced. There is a huge difference buying and riding.

Last but not the least Buying from the previous owner.

This is your best way to find out about the bike, history and other specifics. But know a little about the market prices for the motorcycle part or accessory you want to buy .

Now that you have decided to buy read the following purchase tips.

Always pay in cash as you can make and quick offer and the seller will be more open to sell at a lower price as he gets the money ASAP.

Check and double check the motorcycle part before buying. You can ask for some expert help on cross checking also.

If you are not so experienced then buy a 4-stroke engine as it gives fewer problems. But experienced can definitely buy two-stroke motorcycles parts.

Make sure you get the best deal on motorcycle parts and accessories. In doubt check the various places like magazines and newspapers and of course ebay to check out better deals and it also gives you more options.

Its time to let them enjoy their motorcycle ride. For motorcycle parts information, where to find the best information, learn the secrets on where and how to buy visit our site www.motorcycle-parts-home.com Also visit our sister sites www.about-truck-accessories.com www.carstereosforyou.com

It makes use of innovative machinery and process that enables it to apply for the first time a two-color foil to a single-component substrate made of natural fibers. This new process assures cost-effective production and high-quality finish.

At present the two-color components of automotive interiors are achieved by means of producing multiple parts before applied to one another. This process is not perfect and leaves seams and gaps visible plus it also makes it difficult in some cases to observe strict weight limitations although it is not that so with the BMW 5 Series.

The interior upgrades done on the BMW 5 Series have proven to be a challenge for engineers. It was likened to gift wrapping using an asymmetric object with striped gift wrap paper and making sure that the line would end up parallel and even along the edges. Aside from that, the film is stretched when it is applied on the substrate, which usually distorts the color demarcation line and when this happen additional effort is required to bring the film back to the color demarcation and the film to its proper alignment. In order to ensure a high-quality finish and harmonious overall effect, exacting tolerances must be observed especially where the two colors meet on the door panels.

Johnson Controls make use of a fully automated production process, tools, and machinery advances to ensure that the color demarcation lines stay within the exacting tolerances at all times.

BMW 5 Series in production at China

The BMW 5 Series that is currently in production at the Chinese BMW plant in Shenyang is also being fitted with the innovative door panels from Johnson Controls. The company will also supply the eight-inch display for the rear seat entertainment system for the long-wheelbase version of the BMW 5 Series that is also being produced in China. Johnson Controls will also provide the integrated HomeLink garage door opener worldwide as optional equipment.

About BMW

BMW is the abbreviation for Bayerische Motoren Werke, which when translated in English means Bavarian Motor Works. It is an independent German company and manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles. BMW is also the parent company of the MINI and Rolls-Royce car brands, and was previously the owner of Rover. The company’s slogan is “The Ultimate Driving Machine”.
